Cincinnati faves Artificial Go showcased an irresistible chemistry on their 2024 debut, Hopscotch, riding an imaginative punk-casual style for eight brief jangly tracks. Carpark Records took notice and signed them, and now they're back with a new single, "Triple Ones," with a sort of effervescent Beatles-esque energy.
The origin is worth knowing. "'Triple Ones' is a play on words from an underpaid check," says vocalist Angie Willcutt. "My ex-boss sent out an incorrect paycheck as the angel number '$111' attempting to come across as spiritual when underpaying me. The song is about the times that life throws out experiences that force you to stand up for yourself and question those around you."
The band, who released two LPs in eight months across 2024 and 2025 and recently toured with Ty Segall, are announcing their Carpark signing alongside it. The 7" drops June 12th after the band tours Europe for most of the month of May.
