It's no secret that we're longtime David Ramirez fans around here, so imagine our excitement to open a sort of early present this holiday season with the news that a new studio album is on the way.

"The Music Man" is the lead single on a new long-player entitled All The Not So Gentle Reminders. The new album is the product of time taken away from the noise, from the cycles of recording and touring and promoting, in order to arrive at a place unencumbered by industry expectations or marketplace concerns. The resulting 12 songs are set for a March 21 release on Blue Corn Records.

For now, we have "The Music Man," a song that recalls childhood scenes of musical discovery and how those moments served as the roots for the Music Man he is today. With theatrical flourishes and the clever turns of phrase that are part and parcel of Ramirez's handiwork, it's a richly layered tune that makes us excited to hear more of what's in store on the full-length.
