As the man at the helm for Downpilot, Hiraga somehow remains a best-kept secret in the Pacific Northwest. Over the course of nearly 20 years (with five LPs and one EP), Downpilot has carved out an under-appreciated indie rock catalog worth exploring back to front, an amalgam of melancholic acoustic, psych-tinged rock and jangly pop melodies.

This is the Sound is the newest effort, set for release on Sept. 14 via Tapete Records. Today we're thrilled to offer you an exclusive first listen to "Your Supply," a brooding, building electric number a la early Oasis or Rubyhorse that grabbed us from the beginning.

About the track, Hiraga told us:

"Your Supply" came to me as kind of an alarm, as the state of the world has gotten to a point where outrage is rising. There's some anger on this album like on this track or a bit more sarcastically on "Historian." On the remainder of the album I try to balance it with hope; otherwise I'm just armchair ranting!
