The firstfruits of Pool Kids' new album have us even more excited than before, which is saying something considering just how impressive the band's self-titled 2022 release was.
Christine Goodwyne and company lead out their upcoming album (out August 15 via Epitaph) with the title track to Easier Said Than Done, a lyrical gutpunch of honest realizations and confessions related to the band's mental health. "If only I could let go / It's easier said than done," sings Goodwyne as the band coalesces on a splendid mid-tempo hook that reminds you that the band's melodic chops are as strong as ever.
While we're excited to see how the palette expands on the rest of the album, we're stoked with this glimpse at the forthcoming LP. Check out the new video above for "Easier Said Than Done."
"Easier Said Than Done" lyrics:
I know you’re bad for me
But sometimes you’re the only one I want
I’m sure I’ll learn eventually
But lately I just take it as it comes
I let people walk all over me
I take things too personally
Just let me down easily
I only want your company
I’ve been told I fixate
I’m drinking on a Wednesday
Find me at the corner store
I’m waiting for
Tomorrow can’t come any sooner
But we both know that I’m not gonna change
I told you I know how to have fun (how to have fun)
If only I could let go, it’s easier said than done
And when it rains, it fucking pours
And I know things, but you know more
And you’re just fucking perfect, aren’t you?
Yeah, you’re just fucking perfect
I let people walk all over me
I take things too personally
Just let me down easily
I only want your company
I’ve been told I fixate
I’m drinking on a Wednesday
Find me at the corner store
I’m waiting for
Tomorrow can’t come any sooner
But we both know that I’m not gonna change
I told you I know how to have fun (how to have fun)
If only I could let go, it’s easier said than done
Don’t tell me next time, it’s the right time baby
Don’t tell me next time, it’s the right time
Hear me now
Tell me next time, it’s the right time baby
Don’t tell me next time, it’s the right time
Hear me now
Tell me next time, it’s the right time baby (let me down easy)
Don’t tell me next time, it’s the right time (I just want your company)
Hear me now
Tell me next time, it’s the right time baby (I’m not gonna change, I’m not gonna change)
Don’t tell me next time, it’s the right time (I’m not gonna change, I’m never gonna change)
Hear me now
