Johnathan Ford must be feeling a bit lighter these days. The man behind Unwed Sailor has a new single out entitled "West Coast Prism", the firstfruits of a forthcoming new album, High Remembrance (due May 8). Alongside the shimmering tones and pleasant guitar work, there's a brightness and majesty to the whole affair, especially as the keys enter in the song's second half.

The last time we spoke with Ford, in promotion for the appropriately-titled Heavy Age, the expressions were borne from dark, personal moments. It's impossible to say what's behind the new single without speaking with him, but the buoyancy of it all is a heartening listen.
